It’s almost time to get to know Nobody 2. 

During its CinemaCon presentation at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon, Universal Pictures debuted a first look at the Bob Odenkirk-starrer from filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto (May the Devil Take You) and 87North.

The film finds the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul actor reprising his role as mild-mannered family man who is secretly a former government assassin. John Ortiz, Connie Nielsen, Sharon Stone, Christopher Lloyd and Colin Hanks round out the cast. The screenplay is by Derek Kolstad, Aaron Rabin, Umair Aleem and Odenkirk.

The footage, which kicked off with a voiceover announcement in the theater that Odenkirk is “back to kick ass and take more names,” and the scenes that played exclusively for the Colosseum showed him doing just that. It opens with Odenkirk’s character kicking a bunch of asses in an elevator while at a convention. When he returns home, his wife, played by Nielsen, complains that the family hasn’t seen him in months. With summer break just days away, the family decides to go on a trip together.

The next sequence shows them arriving at their vacation destination and checking out a carnival. While playing games and roaming through the attractions, the children are bullied by locals as well as carnival employees. After exiting due to the scuffles, Odenkirk’s character, Hutch, tells his wife that he forgot his phone only to return to the carnival to pummel those bullies.

It’s soon revealed that the family didn’t happen upon just your average and idyllic vacation destination but rather an old bootlegging route full of crooks, criminals and dangers characters. Cue more fights, explosions (including one on a pontoon boat) and a very sleek looking Stone who appears to be some criminal boss. The trailer played to enthusiastic applause.

Odenkirk is producing the action thriller along with Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, who are producing via 87North and their first-look deal with the studio. Marc Provissiero (No Hard Feelings) of Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and Braden Aftergood of Eighty Two Films are producing as well.

Universal will introduce audiences to Nobody 2 on Aug. 15, 2025.

Riley Keough (The Terminal List) is set to star in and executive produce Under the Bridge, Hulu’s limited series based on Rebecca Godfrey’s book.

Keough will play the late author Godfrey in the adaptation of the 1997 true story of 14-year-old Reena Virk, who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. In the book, Godfrey takes readers into the hidden world of the seven teenage girls and a boy accused of the savage murder, revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.

Godfrey (Keough) was a rebellious novelist who returned to her hometown of Victoria, BC, in 1997 and immersed herself in the too-strange-to-believe case of Virk’s murder. As a young woman herself, Godfrey was entrusted by the teenagers accused of the crime and gained unique access to the story. Her increasing fascination with the case — and the killers — drew her down the same path as Truman Capote while writing In Cold Blood.

Keough will executive produce Under the Bridge with Gina Gammell via their production company, Felix Culpa.

From ABC Signature, the limited series is executive produced by Samir Mehta and Liz Tigelaar, who will also serve as showrunners. Quinn Shephard is adapting the book and executive producing. Godfrey, who died last month at 54, was an executive producer on the series and will be getting the credit posthumously. Other EPs are Stacey Silverman and Geeta Vasant Patel, who will also direct.

MGM has acquired one of the hot Cannes Film Festival acquisitions titles, director Sean Penn’s father-daughter coming-of-age drama “Flag Day,” marking the lead film debut of his daughter Dylan Penn (“Elvis & Nixon”), which will have its world premiere on the Croisette. Thirty years ago, Cannes veteran Penn premiered his first film as a director, MGM’s “The Indian Runner,” in 1991, and has continued to bring his films to the festival throughout, from Best Actor-winning “She’s So Lovely” to eventual Oscar-winner “Mystic River” and “The Last Face.” He also served as the president of the jury in 2008.

Playwright and screenwriter Jez Butterworth (“Edge of Tomorrow”) adapted Jennifer Vogel’s 2005 memoir “Flim-Flam Man: The True Story of My Father’s Counterfeit Life.” “Hearing the love and enthusiasm that Mike and his team at MGM have for bringing the movie to audiences was especially gratifying for the amazing good karma it represents,” said producers Bill Horberg and Jon Kilik. “He was the first person we spoke to about developing the book with Jez as a movie for Sean Penn many moons ago. Dreams do come true.”

Sometimes the man you don’t notice is the most dangerous of all.

Emmy winner Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul, The Post, Nebraska) stars as Hutch Mansell, an underestimated and overlooked dad and husband, taking life’s indignities on the chin and never pushing back. A nobody.

Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Partners has just completed principal photography on the sequel “A Dog’s Journey.” Tailored for the Chinese market, the film sees Henry Lau, Marg Helgenberger, Betty Gilpin, and Kathryn Prescott join Dennis Quaid in the cast.

“A Dog’s Journey” is the follow-up to 2017’s “A Dog’s Purpose,” which portrayed a single dog’s spirit incarnated through the lives of four separate canines. Both films are based on the inspirational novels by W. Bruce Cameron. Dennis Quaid reprises his role as the owner of the dog Bailey, voiced again by Josh Gad.

“A Dog’s Purpose” was a surprise hit in China, where Alibaba was a marketing and distribution partner. China delivered $88 million of the film’s $196 million global cumulative, compared with $65 million from North America.

Gail Mancuso is directing from a screenplay by the writing teams of W. Bruce Cameron & Cathryn Michon and Wally Wolodarsky & Maya Forbes. Gavin Polone is producing the film. “A Dog’s Journey” will be distributed by Universal Pictures in the U.S., with a May 19 opening, and select international territories.

On the next morning, Mitch learns on the news that a man called Clinton Davis was found with the body of the man in his van and claimed that he was helping the stranger in a hit-and-run. However the Police Detective Blake Kanon believes that Clinton is a wanted serial-killer. Mitch believes that the man is innocent and helps him in his trial and Clinton is declared not-guilty. But soon Mitch discovers how dangerous Clinton is and now his family is jeopardized.

Cult of Chucky, also known as Child's Play 7: Cult of Chucky, is an American horror film and the seventh instalment in the Child's Play franchise.

Serial killer Charles Lee Ray once again returns in the form of a "Good Guy" doll in this sixth installment of the Child's Play franchise. Series creator Don Mancini returns to direct from his own script, which finds Chucky in the home of a fractured family with whom he has a decades-old grudge with.

Sony is firms up the cast for its Grudge remake with the addition of two-time Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver, Betty Gilpin, star of the Netflix series GLOW, William Sadler, and Frankie Faison. The group joins previously announced cast Andrea Riseborough, Demian Bichir, John Cho and Lin Shaye as filming is scheduled to start in May.

Nicolas Pesce is attached to helm the piece, a reimagining to 2004 version (based on the 2002 Japanese original Ju-on) that starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as a nurse in Tokyo who is afflicted by a curse that created uncontrollable homicidal rage.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has the worldwide distribution rights while Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert will produce for Ghost House with Romel Adam overseeing production for the company. Executive producers Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Erin Westerman alongside Schuyler Weiss, Roy Lee, Doug Davison, John Middleton, and Andrew Pfeffer. Also overseeing the project is Brady Fujikawa from Good Universe.

The Capture of the Green River Killer is a 2-part television film that tells the story of the Green River Killer serial murders between 1982 and 1998.

The film is based on David Reichert's book, Chasing the Devil: My Twenty-Year Quest to Capture the Green River Killer. The film's biggest departure from the book is a fictional inclusion of two teenage girls, one of whom, Helen "Hel" Remus (Amy Davidson), is a young runaway who decides to turn to prostitution to escape her mother's abusive boyfriend, in a sympathetic storyline to honor Ridgway's victims. Detective Dave Reichert (Tom Kavanaugh) works the murder cases and stays on the case from beginning to end, including extensive interviews with incarcerated serial killer Ted Bundy (James Marsters). In the movie he and another officer face the killer, Gary Ridgeway (John Pielmeier) after tracking his truck down because it was seen picking up a missing woman.
